Would it have been a good thing if the Rio Grande continued operation of the Narrow Gauge line for another 5 to 10 years? If technology develop farther on the narrow gauge, that is if they didn't switch to standard gauge, would there be as many examples of the Historic Narrow Gauge engines and Rolling stock and would there be anything left after the abandonded the line If the states didn't buy between Chama and Antonito or the private owner didn't buy between Durango and Silverton.
