New Comprehensive Source Material about the C&TSRR

I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but Curt Bianchi has now made available on the Friends web site all the documentation and photos that comprise the new registration of the C&TSRR on the NPS National Register of Historic Places. Go to www.cumbrestoltec.org/news.htm to find your way to the links.

The documentation is a concise history and description of the railroad and all of its assets (land, rolling stock, buildings, etc.). What's nice is that Curt's organized it into reasonably sized .pdf's for easy downloading. So anyone can now have their own electronic archive. No hard-disk should be without.

This project was a multi-year effort by the Friends with Keith Hayes, AIA, being the principal investigator. The submission was made to the NPS this past Spring with the full support of the SHPO's of Colorado and New Mexico. This is the sort of material that provides the necessary foundation of descriptive information for a true master plan for the railroad. It also helps in applications for NPS grants because the railroad has now been elevated to the "National Significance" category. Hats off to all who made it happen.
