Ever wonder what a D&RGW K28 would look like without the WABCO 8.5" x 150cc cross compound air compressor mounted on the smokebox door? I've heard a few of you state a dislike for the appearance in the past. Well here is the answer. The "Oahu Railway and Land Company" on the Hawaiian island of Oahu had 4 of these and they are K-28's in most every way. The only differences were grates firebox size, and a few small detail changes, but the frames, cylinders and all the hard parts are what you guys know as an D&RGW ALCO built K28.
#70 was always the best looking of the OR&L locos. This is from an old issue of "Trains", 1957 I think.
