Just in case anyone is intersted, the Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum has 845 feet of additional track fully in service, following the weekend's "Spring Track Meet." During the three days, as many as 80 members and friends unloaded ballast, jacked, tamped, lined and dressed track. Weather featured drizzle, an odd shower or two, and temperatures cool enough to discourage insects. There was plenty of good food, camraderie and conversation about all things narrow in gauge.
The weekend finale was when no. 10 took two loads of ballast and two cars full of trackworkers from Sheepscot to Albee's Crossing, with a spirited assault by the Forney on Cockeye Curve. Hope to see many of you at the National Narrow Gauge Convention later this summer. Maybe Steve will post a photo or two to illustrate my prose.
