Heads up fellow modelers! As of yesterday, C&S #9 was outside of the Silver Plume shop. She was sitting on shop trucks, without any drivers or siderods. Assuming she is still outside, those of you near Silver Plume have a great opportunity to get detail photographs of her frame and brake hardware. Her plow was also off, meaning you can see how the front coupler is supported -- this detail is *not* what I expected. Her headlight, whistle and bell are also off, so you can also observe how that hardware is supported as well... it's just like Bachmann's 1:48 versions!
Unfortunately, you can't get detail shots of her cylinders because they are wrapped in some kind of tarping. I also don't know where her drivers, leading truck, and other removed hardware is, so I don't think you'll be able to get shots of those components. Still, being able to see her up on shop trucks made me realize what an interesting challenge it would be to scratchbuild a model frame.
