In John Norwood's "Rio Grande Narrow Gauge", on page 159 there's a photo of the observation of one of the parlor cars at Alamosa in the morning.
There's two air hoses coming from the engineer's side of the train. One Obviously is the Automatic Brake Pipe, but the 2nd one perplexes me... Is this second pipe a straight air system such as the one currently in use by the D&SNG? Or is this a main reservoir pipe such as something that I would find underneath one of the the ex-Amtrak coaches I work with on my railroad?
