D&RGW Water Service cars

I am looking for a list of water service cars that were used on the D&RGW/ RGS over the years.
D&RGW Official roster No. 11 of 4/1/1923 lists just one car:
D&RGW #0458
While RGS shows #01789 & 01885
Surviving water service cars #04904 on the C&TS and # 04432 in the GTL RR collection and Sloan lists # 04914 from the D&S now at the Ridgway RR museum.
Several questions. In looking at plans of #01789 there are bunks in addition to all the tool and parts bins so did the water service employee live out of the car he was assigned to while doing his on line work? Sloan (Century +10) lists #04955 as "Sleeper Water Service" so was this a dedicated bunk car for water service? I recall reading some information about water service (maybe a Donald E.A. Rogers account?) but can’t find the information now.
Is there a listing of what other cars may have been used in water service over the years and how could just the one car listed in the 1923 roster have serviced the entire D&RGW NG system?
