The Dismal Future of Railfest *PIC*

This photo is a rare glimpse of a post apocolyptic Railfest in Durango circa 2065.
this is a shot of, yet again rebuilt locomotive #473 after a rear end colision with goose #5 back in 2038. the colision, to the roundhouse's suprise, hyper-bonded the steel molecules in their frames forever and permemantly fusing the atoms!
This photo extra is seen here running through the Animas Valley just east of milepost 458 beyond Home Ranch. Railfest is still a popular event for young and old alike. Train chasing however, has evolved with a new found vigor. railfans have become less patient in their attempts to get unprecedented photos of these rare events. These "chases" have become increasingly violent with some matches ending in shootouts. the result: judgement having to be passesd upon the weeker of the two railfans in a match to the death in the old Turntable Pit.
On a more humane, and lighter note: Notice the concrete ties and continuously welded 130 lb. rail installed many hard years after most of the valley trackage was blown away in the shockwaves from multiple nuclear blasts during the winter of '24.
