Narrow Gauge railroads used the same wheel flange profile as the standard gauge railroads. So is the Back-to-Back of a 3' wheel set exactly 20-1/2" less than that of 56-1/2" gauge? Is it 34-1/2" less than standard gauge to 24" gauge?
I've been measuring some wheel sets and the numbers are rather varried, is there a universally accepted standard for narrow gauge?
