Rarely sceen photograph of the mining Camp at Rector, Utah. Named after the Gilsonite claim of same name that was near by. Notice the log walled canvas topped tents. Ore from the mines was mined behind the cameraman and taken down a road on the hillside to the right, hugging the topography of the canyon to the Uintah's loading siding in Evacuation Canyon in the far- far- far distance. About five-eight miles. Early on this was done by wagon, later by truck. Water and school children were taken in the same truck to Dragon Utah daily.
