SVRy #19, a different view *PIC*

I was lucky today, and received permission to access the closed off areas of the gold dredge in Sumpter. I did quite a number of photos of the interior mechanism on the upper floors, very cool! Like all old structures of it's type, RR machine shops, etc., it has a very distinctive and pleasant odor to it. I have to say, it reminded me of the shops at Rayonier's RR camp.
If you get to the SVRy, make sure and visit the dredge, but do it soon, it will be closed after July 11th. The park and museum will still be open, but the dredge will be roped off.
It is getting a new roof. That will be a very major project. After wandering around up there, it's amazing how many levels and odd roof areas there are, along with the huge size of the thing!
