Last work session the cab was mounted. A number of volunteers worked hard on the cab fabrication last winter and spring. After all that work, it took only an hour or so to mount it on the flooring, a testament to careful measuring and workmanship. It is made of ash and is painted with white base till it gets final coats of black with a light green interior. Laging is done on the exterior (except in the cab) and jacketing is being installed. A pile of cast parts has been delivered, including grates and a brand-new Economy fire door. Machining is a big hang up now, and hopefully not a huge delay as we drive towards completing the project. Our prez is out of town so no new photos on the website till after his return from beautiful Italy July 4.
