Sen. Entz says funding for jobs is on its way
ALAMOSA — Following a March 13 meeting with Henry Sobanet, the director of the governor’s Office of State Planning & Budgeting, Senator Lewis Entz, R-Hooper, said that money is available to fund jobs at the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TSRR).
“The way I left it, the $250,000 is in the mail,” Entz said by phone shortly after leaving his morning meeting with Sobanet. Entz confirmed later in the day that he was told the check would in fact be mailed Monday or Tuesday.
“The train has its money,” Sobanet said by phone Monday afternoon, adding that the money would come from the General Fund unless a law is passed for it to come from somewhere else....
