DENVER - Money that Sen. Lewis Entz, R-Hooper, is trying to get for the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad may be in jeopardy. But Entz and Rep. Rafael Gallegos, D-Antonito, say not to worry, at least not yet.
Earlier this month, Entz managed to tack on an amendment to a supplemental appropriations bill, a measure designed to add or subtract money to a specific state agency.
In this case, Entz - with help from Sen. Abel Tapia, D-Pueblo - managed to get a $250,000 amendment onto a bill out of the governor's office of economic development.
The money is to be used, in part, to fund eight jobs at the railroad's train car repair shop in Antonito.
Entz said he thought he had the governor's support for the money, but now is not sure he does and is worried he might face a governor's line-item veto.
