I have a basket case PBL C-18 that I am going to "restore". Only question is...which one to do? I like the idea of doing 320, as nobody ever models her, but don't like the "paint can lid" number plate too much. anybody know if she ever had a brass edged plae? Perhaps I'll just do an early #319 with the toolbox and Rio Grande box HL as in Robb Vol #1, and live with the wrong tender (from 316). any suggestions? As an aside to all you historians out there, I have seen several cases on the Grande of engines with wood cabs with the steel sheet over the panel being rebuilt and coming out of the shop with the cab all wood. Is this a case of a new cab, or just taking the sheet off?
