Anybody close to a 6500 Flat?

and can take a quick measurement for me?
I'll be your new best friend.
What I am looking for is the angled braces that start as the side frame at the bolster, then angle in to the coupler pocket.
I need to know what the brace is made up of. From photographs it look like a flat stock of steel, but I don't know what it is. 1 x 4? riveted at each end? Other Standard Gauge cars of this era have a channel stock, this is why I need the explination.
If you can help, I would appriciate it very much
