Matt (from SRI) and I headed out to the huck last night after working out at SRI. Stopped by the shop to talk with Marty (Matt wanted to ask a couple questions about the fireless loco), but he had already left so we chatted with Paul (I believe) for a bit.
We then proceeded to visit the village and ride the train. We had to wait nearly two hours to catch our train (their numbers must have been REALLY high that night). Eventually we made it on the train. Quite a pleasant ride, and I must say, for not riding the train in several years, I was astonished at how nice the interiors of the coaches were. I love the woodwork, and the quality of the restoration the guys at huckleberry did.
We then proceeded to check out 464 up close. Such a beautiful locomotive.
I would have much rather ridden the train during the day, but overall it was a very enjoyable experience.
If any of you guys are in michigan around christmas time, be sure to check out their christmas train.
