Parts, People, & Passengers

Just some personal opinions:
Parts:
The C&TS should not be a parts store for the D&S. The D&SNG is a well endowed entity with a lot of resources. The 483 needs to stay home. I hope that the day never comes where the C&TS has a "yard sale" to raise money.
People:
If the C&TS is to ultimately be successful, it is up to YOU. The states of NM & CO (taxpayers) footed the bill to purchase the RR. But don't expect the gov'ts to give a ****. Figure out what you can do to help and do it. If you have skills and can volunteer, volunteer. If you want to see 483 run, go find the money. There are people and organizations out there with money. Knock on their doors. The C&TS doesn't "need" 483, so they are not going to spend the money to fix it. But if you raise the funds to fix it, they will surely use it. Anyone can whine about what should and should not be done, but what are YOU going to do about it?
Passengers:
If you are concerned about ridership numbers for the C&TS, do something about it. If it is allowed, put posters in your workplace. Let your interests be known to those around you. Put your creativity to work. See if you can get a group together to go ride the railroad. Your friends from work, church, clubs, scouts, family, whatever.
As I said, anyone can whine. Why don't you do something about it!! Be constructive. Be creative.
