#472 at Elbert Creek *PIC*

Hi, all -
Like Roger, I too am waiting for the Panasonic FZ30 to become available. Meanwhile, here's a pair of photos of "#472" in bright sunlight, taken without benefit of a tripod on my little Pentax 550 pocket camera. Nowhere near as nice as Darel's photo of the President's Special near Silverton, but the light was good and the green shows up pretty well.
Hats off to artist Jeff Ellingson and the rest of the crew at the D&S for a beautiful engine and a fantastic too-few days at RailFest. Also many thanks to the great crew of Goose #5 and those who rebuilt her. And hats off as well to the brave souls who endured the composer's well-echoed rendition of "The Ballad of Festus Frothjaw" (aka "The Foamite Song")* while waiting for the double-header and the special at Elbert Creek below Rockwood.
