Yesterday and today were railfan days at the Huckleberry Railroad and 464 was the star of the show. I was giving shop tours, so didn't get any photos, but each time she went past the shops, I'd go stand by the tracks and watch, and listen to it glide by.
For those who are used to the clanks and bangs of a typical steam engine, a freshly overhauled loco is quite a contrast. With nearly twice the TE of the #2, 464 just whispered and the running gear was virtually silent!
There are still some details that need finishing off, but the focus has been on getting the mechanicals right, and clearly they have. For those who are coming to Dearborn for the Narrow Gauge Convention, a trip behind 464 will be a real treat!
Kudos to Marty Knox and the rest of the Huckleberry RR Crew for a fine job.
