Recently I saw the news that the new white or yellow reflectors will be absolute requirement on the sides of all equipment, in a few years. How will this look if they were attached to the sides of the narrow gauge boxcars and other historic cars on the C&TS? Is there any exception exempting historic railroad equipment on Tourist lines where other crossing protection can be made? These cars are not running freely around the country. Will the drive rods of the K-36 or K-28 need to be mounted with yellow stripes? Will there be a way to mount the reflectors under the lower edge of the cars where they will serve the purpose if used at night, but not be in view for daytime photography? Some tourist lines have camouflaged the crossing flashing headlights into the front of historic locomotives with some success. Does someone know the link to the site which has the new law and what plans will tourist and historic railroads make to protect their image of the past and still operate in the future? Or do we just give up on history because of the insurance and government constant attacks, and the fact that I brought up the question?
