Silverton to Lake City road

Might anyone be able to shed some light on the road(s) between Silverton and Lake City?
How driveable? Doable in a full size 4WD? Approximate distance and drive time? Etc...
We're thinking about adding an interesting twist to our Haaj to the Holy City of Chama this year.
All info would be most appreciated!

P.S. No doubt Mr. PRSL will weigh in about the inherit and needless risks to all involved.
No flags will be flown, all tarps to be secured with pie plates. Pigeon poo optional, slightly higher west of the Rockies.
