Standard Gauge Steamer in LA?

I received the below message from a friend in the Los Angeles area. Can anyone identify what he believes is down there? Here is his message:
Pat,
Unfortunately Union Pacific which owns the yard where the 4-8-0 is parked refuses to let anyone near the old round house. Security is really freaked out about terrorist concerns because the yard is very close to downtown LA and near Vernon CA. Vernon is a major industrial center with steel, chemical, fertilizer, plastic, meat packing, chicken processing, and major canning operations across the road and riverbed. I
have asked three times to gain access so that I may take a quick picture of the relic. My shots from above on the metrolink train do not look like anything because the train I am in is going too fast to take the image.
