Question about the "Eureka"...

May 07, 2001 03:33PM
MAYBE someone on this board MIGHT know the answers. <img class=" />
Dan,
Would you happen to know the weight in working order of the Eureka, and how much of that weight in on the drivers?
And the weight of a fully watered & fueled tender?
I've recently come into a copy of "Modern Locomotive Construction 1895", in it are the formulas for designing a locomotive from scratch. I'd really like to run through the calculations using some known numbers from the Eureka and see how close they come out.
Some of the more important numbers being the weights.
I'd really appreaciate it.
Thank you,
Curtis F.
