Large solid oak train station key box/cupboard

October 04, 2004 04:04PM
Hi there was wondering if you might be able to help me. I have a large 5 ft by 4 ft oak hinged box that I was told came out of the "Toronto Station" I believe it to be CNR or CPR ? I was told it was used to hold the keys for the trains etc. It holds hundreds of keys when fully extended. It has 6 double sided doors when fully extended. It folds out to about 8-10 ft when fully opened. My question is is there a place where I could reserch this a bit more or find pictures of inside railstations to see if I could see a picture of this piece in a station? I was told there where originally 2 pieces like this. Also I was told that 2 pieces came out of the station in 1967. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, in particular would the Toronto station mean Union Station ? Yours Truly Chris Davie I can send pics if you need to see it
