I am currently researching D&RGW Caboose 0575, owned by the City of Ouray, for the Ouray County Historical Society.
Here's what I'm looking for: photographs of 0575, particularly any that show the caboose in Ouray; any documentary evidence of the caboose being used in Ouray; any documentary evidence of other use and changes to 0575; sketches of class 2 cabooses; and information on the current condition of other class 2 cabooses.
Here's what I've already accessed: Robert Sloan's "A Century + 10 of D&RGW Narrow Gauge Freight Cars, 1871 to 1981" and Robert Grandt's "Narrow Gauge Pictorial: Volume V, Cabooses of the D&RGW." I have visited the Colorado Railroad Museum and talked with Kenton Forrest and Charles Albi, and I have accessed the caboose list at

This is part of an assessment, in hopes of undertaking futher preservation/restoration of the caboose. I appreciate any information or suggestions for research that you all might have.
many thanks!
