Dealing with tree branches and pine cones on the narrow gauge

In the days before drones, gaining elevated view points of narrow gauge trains required scrambling up a mountain side or climbing trees. Trees could make clear views challenging because of all those branches and pine cones getting in the way, as in this sequence on December 6, 1967.

Looking toward Chama, there was a clear view of 493 approaching Lobato with a string of lumber loads from the Skyline mill

The view looking toward Cumbres wasn't quite as open, with branches and pine cones adding to the scene
