SVRR Archive and Library Bld. Progress 9Feb.2024

Yesterday, Feb. 9th, 2024 my wife Jane and I went to the Sumpter Valley to inspect the progress on the SVRR Archive and Library building. Electrical and HVAC trim out are completed! We have lights and heat. There is a punch list of things left to do and our inspection revealed some small items that need correction by our contractors. None the less we are very happy with the progress. Our general contractor told me that if we wanted to store some things in the building we could go ahead, so you will note 13 boxes of modeling material now stored in the back corner of the archive storage room. Despite my wife Jane's best efforts the floor needs more clean up which I am putting on the contractor to take care of, so no more moving in until that is done. Unless there are some unexpected expenses, we have the building completion funded. Next is furnishing the building which we will need to raise around $15,000 more for. Thanks to a $6000 grant from the Leo Adler Foundation we have placed an order for shelving and a map cabinet. This grant should also cover window shades to be ordered soon. After that with funds yet to be raised we need to buy some tables, chairs, computer, printing and scanning equipment.
