"Silverton 1955, Homer Reid photo
A view of the Conoco bulk plant at the end of the D&RG Wye, next to the town ball park and adjacent to Greene Street. This is prior to the new US 550 highway bridge over Cement Creek built in 1956, removed in 2010 in favor of a new bridge. Not scanned is a departing train off to the right in this big format print."

"Conoco Bulk Plant, early 1960s
Silverton, Conoco bulk plant at tail end of wye next to Greene Street. In the center of the highway wye is the 3000 series boxcar donated by the D&RGW to the Silverton Chamber of Commerce that was used as an information booth. It was later moved across the left leg of the wye to the new Phillips 66 gas station where with 2 standard gauge tank cars and the SN caboose owned by the historical society a small display train was formed. The Phillips 66 owners subsequently sold the box car they didn't own to the D&S and it now sits next to the Silverton depot, and the 2 tank cars are used as water cars for fire protection on the D&S.

This is all that remains of the Texaco bulk plant in the Silverton yards. This ring of concrete supported a rather large vertical tank."
