Herding sheep into the Chama stock pens was a family affair. These sheep rode into history as being the last stock movement to be carried on the D&RGW narrow gauge in October of 1966."

The 498 pushed the train forward one car at a time. There was one car not used because it was not double decked for sheep, but all the sheep were loaded."
