C-16 Book

Very pleased to announce that I signed a contract January 15th to do my sixth book on the Denver & Rio Grande Western narrow gauge. The book subject will be the D&RGW C-16 class 2-8-0 locomotives. The D&RG and Rio Grande Western acquired 85 of this type starting in 1881. A number were sold or leased to the Rio Grande Southern RR and the various logging railroads in New Mexico and Colorado.

The book will be published by White River Publishing Company who published my K-28 and K-36 books. The book will have the same page count as the K-28: 300+. Mike McKenzie who did the fold-out 3 page drawings in the K-28 and K-36 book has already begun work on similar C-16 drawings. Jeff Ellingson who did the cover painting of the K-28 book will do a cover painting featuring two of the C-16s.

The book will be published in the spring of 2025.
