In the continuing quest to reduce fire hazards POSSIBLY generated by the C&TS, I think that we need to put a false coal load over the coal bunker and put in batteries. These batteries would power an electric space heater (maybe a microwave so the crews can heat their lunches) in the firebox to boil the water. I think electric motors are a bit too much. (Maybe we can get the rabbit to offer his at a reduced cost).
If batteries are not long lasting enough, we could put a small nuclear pile in the fire box. This would be of great advantage for night photo sessions and save flash bulbs.
However, we might consider changing horses. Letting grass grow between the rails would allow refueling while moving.
And it would not cause smog. AND there is no fire danger (unless, of course, someone feeds jalapenos to the motive power). Maybe jalapenos should be kept as the after burners.
