A life chasing narrow gauge trains Ch 2

The West Side Lumber Company railroad was only a two hour drive away, and I was very much aware of its existence, but surprisingly the next narrow gauge I visited was the Rio Grande, after a two day drive to Durango in January 1960. Two fellow students from Berkeley joined me in my '53 Ford on that long ago trek, and today Rey Barraza and Gordon Chappell remain good friends. The DRGW was going to become a fixture in my life for many years, and for many pictures, but here are three of my favorites. The first in the Alamosa roundhouse, the second leaving Chama for Cumbres, and the last is a Farmington turn leaving Durango.
