I have a couple of questions for some of you experts who run steam locomotives daily.
1. What general guidelines do you follow as to when and how often you "blow down" the boiler as a matter of routine good practice (in other words as preventive action before a problem is allowed to develop)?
2. When drifting down a short steep grade with a train where do you place the Johnson Bar and the throttle?
3. What steps do you go through daily to check the water glass?
Thanks in advance guys
