Eureka Part 1 *PIC*

This is a bit late, but that’s what happens when you work for a living…..
I had the wonderful experience of working with Dan Markoff’s crew on the Eureka during this year’s Railfest. Eureka hit Durango around noon on Wed., Aug 20 riding two trucks. The tender was unloaded at the ramp while the locomotive itself was rolled off the truck on a special ramp on the north side of the roundhouse on track 9. After getting the tender attached we had Eureka shoved in the House over the pit there we crawled around underneath her checking for anything that may have rattled loose on her overland journey. That done, we had her shoved into an empty track in the roundhouse ready to fire up the next morning.
The next morning I got this shot before we lit her off.
