As far as I know, there was no physical connection between the AT&SF and the D&RGW in Santa Fe. The NMC and the D&RGW shared trackage on the east side of the "Union Station", so indeed there was probably dual gauge track. The location today would be Guadalupe Street.
The AT&SF yards were between the "Union Station" and and their own station a hundred yards further west. This is now a parking lot.
The Union Station still exists and is now Tomasita's restaurant, a good and very popular local watering hole. A good place to get a good mexican meal at a decent price, with primo margaritas and superb service.
A little farther to the south, and on the east side of what is now Guadalupe Street was a lon-forgotten turntable used by the NMC. The pit was fairly recently unearthed when a bank was being built on the site. Few, if any, new it was there. There was an effort to preserve the pit and integrate it into the bank's designs, but commercial interests prevailed. However, it is my understanding that the stone lining was catalogued and removed for safe keeping for use in some other presently undetermined location in the 35 acre Rail Yard property which the city of Santa Fe now owns.
The D&RGW did not use this turntable, but turned their trains on a wye about a half mile north of the Union Station.
