This past Thursday and Friday the Georgetown Loop Shay #12 was steamed up and test run for the first time since October of 2001. The #12 had been dis-assembled for a "Form 4" ultrasound boiler testing and boiler inspection. During this same time other major mechanical repairs were made and the locomotive re-assembled. Although the test was successful there is still some minor work to be done. The #12 will go back into regular service for the 2003 season on the Georgetown Loop.
