I am doing research on a primary document for a class I am taking, and I came across a license issued to the Carson and Tahoe Lumber and fluming Company in 1875 for their 2 narrow gauge locos, the "Tahoe" and the "Glenbrook," which had been built by Baldwin in 1875. There is very little information on the license itself. The license was issued by the Locomotive Engine and Safety Truck Company of New York, who had purchased patents from several men including Levi Bissell. I was wondering if anyone knew any background on the company, or the basis for issuance of the license. I thought it was kind of interesting.
Thanks in advance for any help
