D&RGW 1946 operations

Thought this day of operation from 1946 would be interesting to some as it shows ops on the old 3rd division as well as the 4th div.

Alamosa ? September 3, 1946
ALL ALAMOSA
#116 OT.
#67 about 5 PM.
Derrick turn about 1:30AM
La Jara turn about 2AM
#442 about 10AM
Salida X about noon
Run #68 branch connections with power necessary move all tonnage including pickup on line, get helper Russsell or Sierra from La Veta.
Run 2/68 if sufficient tonnage and give 1/68 all shorts and do pick up.
Turn #441, 1 engine, west loads including valley loads for west of La Jara, mty tanks, dumps, coals. Pick up 1 mty coal Romeo, 1 mty dump Antonito, 825 adjusted tons, factor 4, west of Antonito, handle 9 mty Chama tanks thru, then reduce balance if necessary to move mty dumps and coals.
Double Salida crew back tomorrow on 3-hour break and to connect with #442, all north loads and may want 2 Deluxe coaches for Salida. Will advise later, run branch turns as usual tomorrow.
ALL CHAMA
MX8 about midnight. Run connection, 2 engines, 1 thru, all mty flats, ore from Silverton in open cars, UTLX 55178, fuel oil then Salida branch loads, company piling, etc., then more fuel oil. Pick up fill at Cumbres. Put up coal at Antonito. Pick up 1 set of idlers, east loads and mtys to go to Antontio.
Run lite engine to Durango about 10 am torrow on call from dispatcher. EX about noon tomorrow. Run connection, west loads, mty dumps, coals and any ore box including any at Chama.
Run 2 2-engine Cumbres turns tomorrow night.
ALL DURANGO

will run EXE Thursday
GUNNISON
Run EXE, 2 engines, connection Crested Butte turn, all east loads, full tonnage, factor 5. Pick up east loads on line, get helper Sargent, double Sargent Marshall Pass moving all commercial loads Salida and beyond then CF&I out of Sargent and Marshall Pass.
Call train crew with weed burner 8AM tomorrow burn weeds on Crested Butte Branch.
MONTROSE
Call tramp crew work in yard tomorrow when wanted after 7AM
ALL LA VETA
#68-0 abpit 9 AM tomorrow, stock, perishable and other dead freight. Run lite L-95 helper to Sierra or Russell help #68 on call from dispatcher.
Double #68s crew back tomorrow connection #67, west loads, mty reffers.
GUNNISON
Monarch turn about 6 PM.
EXE from Gunnison about 7AM
Run lite helper to Sargent about 7PM on call from dispatcher.
Run Valley X 6AM, 1 engine, valley loads, 2 mty coals for ore loading Villa Grove then fill on mty coals for Alamosa. Pick up valley loads including car fence material at Mear Jct., also mty tank. Pick up foreign mty at Hooper. Pick up any mty coals Mineral Hot Springs, to Alamosa Junction for Alamosa.
Run Monarch turn as ordered by CF&I.
Will run Gunnison X Thursday
