Uintah articulated locomotive #51 runs by a Mr. & Mrs. Rucker's residence, the section house at McAndrews, where they had a large garden in the flat between the right of way and the house in the 1930's. Enginemen new to stop the usual mixed train with combination car #50 at the rear, if there was a paper note pinned to the post in the foreground. The conductor in the passenger car would retrieve the note, which would be a list of items needed by any either of the two families that lived at McAndrews at that time. The train would come to a stop with the combination car at the gate, the conductor would take the note, and transport it to Mack. Once there, the conductor would give it to the store at Mack. The families were on a charge account, and the goods would then be sent out on the next days train, stopping to deliver the goods at McAndrews. Another photo of that exchange will be posted later. Notice the water bag hanging from the grab iron onthe coal bunker.
