Russ,
I am supprised that no one has pointed out the beautiful picture on this months (Dec 2012) Colorado Narrow Gauge Classic Rail Images. Is 483 sporting a snowplow or are my eyes just fooing around with Jane. The Red on the counterbalance takes my memories back to an early Sept afternoon in 2010 when I saw the same girl dressed this same way (well sort of)(she didn't have the flying grande on her side) but still, she sure did look swell.
Looking at the colors on the side and at the angle this pic. was taken you could almost argue that there is only a shade change in the black and not a maroonish color to it. Same as is argued many times that the green on some locomotives in Tin Type (black and white shots) is just a grey-er black, or a soot covering on the black.
Wow, What a sweet ride. Wish I could have been there. Lucky for Al Chione and crew who venture out on that 5th of December in 1968.
