Looks like the thread on the caboose handrail colors was lost in the server upgrade.
I was hoping to hear from someone who had the "official" answer.
In case you missed the original thread, we were trying to figure out what color the steps, handrails and ladders are on D&RGW narrow gauge cabooses prior to the 1940 time frame.
It was pointed out that Grant's Narrow Gauge Pictorial indicated black handrails in the earlier years. The question of white or silver in the pre Flying Rio Grande lettering scheme still seems to be in doubt.
