Jim Wrinn posted some very very good news over at RYPN:
"From Trains.com news wire comes this good news:
Taylor named to head California State Railroad Museum
Catherine A. Taylor, who played an instrumental role in Railfair '99 and Railfair '91, has been named director of the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. During Taylor’s 12 years as head of the California State Railroad Museum Foundation, the foundation has expanded from an organization with one staff member and a budget of less than $100,000 into the largest cooperating association in the California State Parks system. Today the foundation has 34 employees and has an annual budget of $3.2 million.
The museum is embarking on a $25 million expansion that includes development of the Railroad Technology Museum in the former Southern Pacific Sacramento Shops complex.
That's the news, now for the commentary:
Having worked with Cathy as a participant in Railfair '99 and participated in the annual spring railway preservation workshops and been a beneficiary of her good advice and help, all I can say this that this is very good news and I wish her and CSRM the best! "
