Spring on the WW&F *PIC*

Saturday April 20, our locomotive #10 was given a test fire up. She was put on the passenger train mid afternoon and pulled the coach the rest of the day.
#10's had a little bit of work done to her over the winter, but not much. General maintenance, mainly. Saturday the front coupler pocket was put into service, and the train was pulled with the locomotive on the north end of the train, tender first (usually things run with the loco on the south end of the train), thus allowing for some unusual photo opportunities.
Saturday was also the day of the 470 Railroad Club visit. Everyone was glad at the welcome we gave them.
Next weekend I'd like to invite everyone on the list to our Spring Ballast Party. We'll be working hard at ballasting and getting into service the new section of track built last fall. We have 1100 feet of track to get ballasted. Friday through Sunday are the dates. All work trains will be pulled by the steam loco.
