Last month, American Heritage Railway's Great Smoky Mountains Railroad announced that they had:
1) Bought the Belfast & Moosehead Lake 4-6-0 and 9 coaches.
2) Also purchased a Budd RDC from the B&ML
3) Formed a non-profit to assist in fund raising for restoring their US steam locomotives (#722 and #1702).
The press release announcing these actions is available on their website, under the Press Release sections:

Long-time NGDF users will recall that the Belfast & Moosehead Lake was last operated by Railstar. IIRC, Railstar defaulted on their lease of terminal trackage at Belfast and the City (the landlord) ripped up the yard, which had been in place for 125 years. The B&ML went defunct soon afterward. Here's the link to a brief NGDF thread about it from back in 2005:

Given the connections of the B&ML to Railstar and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad to the D&SNG, I am someone surprised that this hasn't already been mentioned yet on the NGDF.
