Daniel Gilliland, the East Broad Top's operations manager, posted an outline of next year's operating schedule to the EBT's Facebook page last night, and it includes some significant additions. Instead of running weekends only from June through October, the EBT will open earlier—the second weekend in May (with a dinner train for that Sunday, Mother's Day)—and in July, August, and October the railroad will run Thursday through Sunday. There will also be several dinner trains and three weekends of Santa trains (the last weekend of November and the first two weekends of December). No final word yet on whether Thomas the Tank Engine will visit in July...
Meanwhile the regular 2010 season ends this coming weekend, with evening trains both Saturday and Sunday for Halloween. Santa trains will run the weekend after Thanksgiving and the first weekend in December with No. 15, the 1914 Baldwin Mikado.
