K-28 Mid Train Helper

I broke the first day down into five parts. A highlight I found in this first section was watching the crew spot the tank at Hermosa. This was the first time it had been done here in a very long time.

Durango to Hermosa
Part 1

Then after departing Hermosa we catch the train working the grade just below Pinkerton, followed by a couple runbys at Elbert Creek and then boarding the caboose over the high line.

Hermosa to Tacoma
Part 2

The train waited in the Tacoma siding to clear up for the daily passenger train. This portion has a few runbys and some onboard shots of the crew talking with the dispatcher and going about duties while enroute.

Tacoma to Needleton
Part 3

At Needleton, I was able to get some really interesting footage from the cab of the 476 as we worked up to Elk Park with Joe and Nick.

Part 4

Finally, after meeting the eastbound (south) train at Elk Park, we start off with Jon and Kylah in the cab of the 473 and finish up with a couple runbys on the last few miles to Silverton.
