This is scanned from a photo that I donated to our SVRR Archives years back. This hefty narrow gauge Climax C/N 1355 was built in 1915 for the Baker White Pine Lbr. Co. They must have taken quite a bit of pride in this 45 ton engine because many photos were taken of it over the years, vs. a much smaller number of shots extant of the company's other two Climax engines. #3 was retired and scrapped in the late 1930's or maybe early 1940's. Her boiler was repurposed as a stationary steam source at a building in Baker. SVRR volunteers recovered the boiler and it was on display at our McEwen yard, however it ended up being traded to Roaring Camp to use in a Climax restoration. We have one of the builders plates and the spot plate in our collection.
