Referring to the track plan for Gunnison here: [
www.ghostdepot.com] (circa 1920) - it seems very similar to the one (no credit) on page 55 of "Gunnison" by Richard Dorman.
However it's somewhat different from the one on pages 106/107 in "Trails among the Columbine 1989" which is credited to John Maxwell (moved ice house, extended tracks east of the main yard). Anyone know the date of Mr. Maxwells drawing? I looked at [
www.colong.com] and the likeliest candidate looked to be from 1940.
In the ghostdepot image, there's a structure due south of the Ice House that's long and narrow and is on or under the one yard track that doesn't go all the way east. Anyone know what this structure was? Was it a coal ramp that was replaced by a more tradition coal tipple on the leg to the roundhouse?
Thanks!
