Adding to the Goose flanger thread..A little teaser on what might be included in a possible "new" Tin Feathers and Gasoline Fumes publication.
A letter dated Sept 24, 1932 from the RGS Supt. Forest White to the Asst. to the receiver, requesting the flanger design of the Geese by Jack Odenbaugh be patented. Odenbaugh would like to retain a 1/3 interest and the Company (RGS) a 2/3 interest if patented. Letter also states it would avoid the RGS paying a royalty if someone else got the patent. Letter says 4 photos of the flanger were sent. (unavailible) Photos showed circular portions of the blades, hinges, and springs.Requested engineering draw up plans for submission. I don't know if a patent was issued, but this could be checked.
Thanks to Jerry Day for this info.
Now this is an unoffical poll and not sanctioned by the CRRM or the author of the proposed publication: How many of you out there would purchase a hard bound book of over 5,000 words with new photos and info on the RGS Motors? And I mean a lot of new info and photos. Price would probably be over $55.00 (not definite) Please answer on the NGDF. Could be a long thread, but will show the interest.
